About Kayla
Kayla Smith is a full-time photographer in Amarillo, Texas, ten years into photographing weddings, engagements, families and brand new babies across the Panhandle.
Approach
I have needed to make things for as long as I can remember, and photography turned out to be the way to build the life I wanted around that. Ten years on it is still what I do full time, out of Amarillo and all over the Texas Panhandle.
What I am after is the ordinary, living, breathing part of a day rather than the posed part. The look between you before anyone says anything. A toddler who has decided the session is over. Those are the frames you will still want in twenty years.
My work has been published by The Knot, Modern Luxury Weddings Dallas, Rocky Mountain Bride, Rustic Wedding Chic and Brides of West Texas. When I am not shooting I am with my kids, at the gym, or outside somewhere.
